Over the past thirty years, Global Rights has worked in more than ten countries across Latin America to promote and protect individuals’ civil and political rights. Since 2001, our activities focus on advancing racial and ethnic equality for Afro-descendants and indigenous peoples. We currently work with Afro-descendant civil society organizations in Brazil, Colombia, and Peru to improve their human rights situations in those countries, as well as with regional networks, to combat discrimination across Latin America and bring these issues onto the regional and international stages, where institutions such as the Organization of American States and the United Nations develop and enforce human rights standards.
